The Washington Academy of Languages, a division of City University of Seattle, is a cross-cultural language institute located in beautiful coastal Seattle, Washington, on the West Coast of the United States. The Academy aims to promote global understanding through language instruction and teacher training, primarily focusing on non-native English speakers. We provide services that can help motivated learners improve their English proficiency and progress to study in a university, other institute of higher education or pursue employment opportunities that require an advanced level of English.
WAL offers courses for students from all walks of life and all language levels. Our programs serve international students and English language learners, or learn how to teach English as a second language to other students. Through our instruction, we aim to provide language instruction and training which facilitates personal, academic and professional growth and to promote global understanding through an individualized approach to language instruction and cultural orientation. At the same time, we continue to evolve as an institution that offers multidisciplinary programs to prepare individuals for successful international and language-related careers.
